Welcome to our Parish
St. Mary and St. Modwen’s Catholic Church, Burton on Trent
&
St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Tutbury
|
Ss Mary and Modwen is the Catholic Church in the town centre of Burton-upon-Trent which is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham. While the current parish church was built in 1879 the historic links of the parish go back to its patron, St Modwen, who founded a church in the town in the 7th Century.
In 2019 St. Christopher's Church, which had been part of the Barton and Yoxall parish, once again became part of the Ss Mary and Modwen parish. Today, the parish continues to be a place of welcome and prayer, at both of its churches, for its parishioners and visitors to the area. We hope you are able to use this website to find out about what is happening in the parish. May God bless you. Fr Stan Nwanunobi, C.S.Sp. - Parish Priest |
