Life - Derby Group, Including Burton
The 'Life' Charity was formed in 1970 by co-founders Jack and Nuala Scarisbrick.
Creating a world where no one faces pregnancy or pregnancy loss alone. The Charity helps more than 70,000 people each year, supporting them to meet pregnancy or pregnancy loss with courage and dignity, so they can flourish. 
"Burton Life Group" was established over 28 years ago, "Stafford Life Group" members were amalgamated with Burton over 5 years ago.
The "Burton and Stafford Group" with only a small amount of committee members worked hard to promote the values of the "Life " Organization. This included to promote the sanctity of Life, to promote education in our schools by Regional Education staff visiting schools, discussing subjects such as promoting stable relationships and responsible attitudes, abortion, euthanasia and supporting the work of the "Fertility Care Programme" Over a year ago we started a project to provide new mothers with a "Baby Welcome Pack", this included a bag of newborn clothing and a bag of baby toiletries. This project has been successful. We have provided several donations to local agencies for distribution as required, we are keen to continue this project and any donations of new or good quality baby items and toiletries would be appreciated and can be left in the collection box, placed at the back of church. Any additional donations can be left also in the collecting box as items can be passed on the Derby "Life" shop. At the Groups Annual General Meeting there was much discussion about the future of "Burton Life Group" due to diminishing numbers of members and a reduced committee. To maximize our work the decision was made for the goup to be disbanded and Stafford members have now been transferred to "Stoke Group" and Burton members have been transferred to "Derby Group" Therefore Burton will become a satellite group and will continue providing the "Welcome Packs" from the donations received.
