Christmas BazaarAlways a fantastic annual event, this years' Christmas Bazaar was no exception. From the moment the doors opened around 12.00pm until 3.00pm there was none stop activity in the parish centre. People snapping up bargains at the gift, toy, white elephant, cosmetics and jewellery stalls. Gaming away on various tombolas and challenges. Or sampling some of the refreshments from burgers, curry and cakes and sandwiches. It was a great afternoon and it looks like that the parish has raised around £5000. Many thanks to everyone who has been involved in some way in this years' Bazaar. Many thanks to everyone who came to support it!

At one of the seminary celebrations Alex, along with the other seminarians became members of the Confraternity of the Vulnerata. Our Lady Vulnerata is the Patroness of the College and holds a special place in hearts of students and Old Boys of the seminary in Valladolid. In the picture is Alex, wearing the Confraternity medal, with Mgr John Pardo, the Rector of the seminary. Above is the image of Our Lady Vulnerata. Do keep our seminarians and Alex in your prayers. Christ the KingTo mark the culmination of the Year of Faith and National Youth Sunday, the 11am Mass this morning was lead and animated by the Young People of the Parish. We are very blessed to have many young people coming to Mass together with young families. It is a clear statement to the world that our faith is not dying but is alive, young and vibrant!
Today we also enrolled our candidates on the Confirmation Preparation Programme. Keep them in your prayers as well as their families and those who form them ready to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit next March. St Modwen's Retreat DayOn Friday to mark the culmination of the Year of Faith, the staff and children had a Day Retreat. The theme of the day was 'Called to be Saints'. The day began with Morning Prayer and then each year group met with different visitors and explored ways in which we can all be saints of today. The day ended with Mass for the feast of St Cecilia. It was a wonderful day and source of many blessings for our school and children. Many thanks to all who helped in any way and, especially, to our speakers.
